New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): Changing weather conditions often lead to various health problems, making yoga and a balanced diet important for maintaining good health. Among several yoga practices, Ustrasana is considered highly beneficial when performed regularly, as it helps bring positive changes to the body.

According to the Ministry of AYUSH, Ustrasana offers multiple physical and mental health benefits. Regular practice can help improve eyesight, reduce back and neck pain, strengthen the digestive system, and even help reduce belly fat. The posture also makes the spine more flexible and supports better cardio-respiratory health while helping to reduce stress and fatigue.

Experts recommend warming up the body before performing Ustrasana with poses such as Vajrasana and Marjari Asana, along with gentle stretching of the shoulders and waist. To perform the pose, kneel on a yoga mat with feet hip-width apart, slowly bend backward and hold the ankles while lifting the chest upward. The posture should be held according to one’s comfort and then released slowly. However, people with serious injuries or medical conditions should practice it only after consulting a yoga expert.
