New Delhi (The Uttam Hindu): In today’s fast-paced lifestyle, stress, work pressure and mental fatigue have become common challenges. Taking out just 15–20 minutes in the evening for yoga can significantly reduce the day’s exhaustion. The Ministry of AYUSH also recommends incorporating yoga into daily routines as it helps relax the body, ease muscle tension, calm the mind and improve sleep quality over time.

Among the most effective poses, Balasana (child’s pose) helps relieve stress, especially for those with sedentary jobs by reducing stiffness in the back and shoulders while promoting mental calmness. Marjariasana (cat-cow pose) enhances flexibility and improves blood circulation through rhythmic spinal movement. Paschimottanasana (seated forward bend) stretches the entire body, strengthens the spine and helps reduce anxiety while also supporting better digestion.

Other beneficial poses include Viparita Karani, which involves elevating the legs to reduce fatigue and improve circulation, making it especially helpful for those dealing with insomnia. Shavasana (corpse pose), where the body remains completely still with focus on breathing, provides deep relaxation and mental peace. Practicing these poses regularly can help restore balance, reduce stress and promote better overall well-being.
