Tehran (The Uttam Hindu): Amid rising tensions between the United States and Iran, both sides have agreed to a two-week ceasefire. In this context, Iran’s Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has ordered all military units to immediately stop firing.

In a statement broadcast on state-run Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB), Khamenei clarified that the ceasefire does not signify the end of the war. However, he instructed all branches of the armed forces to strictly follow the directive and suspend firing operations for now.

Despite the ceasefire, Iran issued a stern warning. The Supreme National Security Council of Iran stated that the move should not be interpreted as a conclusion of the conflict. It warned that even the slightest provocation from the United States or Israel would be met with a strong and decisive response.

The statement emphasized that Iran’s forces remain fully alert, adding that “our fingers are on the trigger,” signaling readiness to retaliate if necessary.

The development highlights the fragile nature of the ceasefire, with tensions still running high and the situation remaining highly sensitive.
